The Hobbywing X8 motor combines the motor, ESC, propeller and motor holder in one integrated unit, so installation takes minutes. It mounts directly on a φ40 mm arm tube; a tube diameter converter is available separately. With the standard 30-inch folding propeller, it suits a 5–7 kg take-off weight per axis and produces up to 15 kg of thrust.
The power of integration
The X8 uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), which offers higher power density, lower noise, a smaller size and less torque ripple than a standard BLDC motor. Hobbywing tunes the motor, ESC and propeller together with field-oriented control (FOC). The result is a balanced, stable and efficient power system.
The X8 power system protects itself with a power-on self-test, abnormal-voltage protection at power-on, over-current protection and stall protection. It sends live operating data to the flight controller: input and response throttle, motor speed, bus voltage, bus current, phase current, capacitor temperature and MOSFET temperature. With the optional Hobbywing DataLink module (sold separately), you can log data from up to 8 power systems at once and feed it back to the flight controller.
The X8 powertrain is IPX6 rated and has patented drainage channels for liquid and debris. You can rinse it with water straight after spraying. It is built to work in rain, pesticide and salt spray, high heat, sand and dust.
The 3011 CW propeller is injection-moulded from a high-strength carbon-fibre-reinforced nylon composite. The light, rigid blades give consistent quality and good dynamic balance. Its aerodynamic profile is matched to the motor’s electromagnetic design and the FOC drive, which gives the whole system strong lift and efficiency.
Thermal optimization
The X8 has an ultra-bright LED status light. You can change its colour or switch it off. It shows the working status of the power system and warns you early when something is wrong, which improves flight safety.

The housing is precision-machined from high-strength aluminium alloy. An internal reinforced beam and a triple interlocking structure protect the motor components and reduce the chance of failure after a hard landing.
Robust and reliable,
extremely impact resistant
If a part is damaged, you replace only that part: the integrated motor-ESC unit, a single blade or a pair, or the propeller clamp. Repairs are faster and your drone spends less time on the ground.
You can update the ESC to the latest Hobbywing firmware from a computer using the Hobbywing DataLink software and module (sold separately).
